Despite carrying a new model code, the XV80 Camry feels more like a comprehensive facelift of the outgoing XV70 generation. However, the changes go beyond just the skin of the car.
The XV80 is currently available in left-hand drive (LHD) markets like the Middle East, North America, and China, but right-hand drive (RHD) markets are not neglected, Thailand is expected to launch the model by end-2024.

Round the front, the XV80 features a new ‘hammerhead’ light design, which is paired with a restyled front bumper and grille assembly.
At the rear, it gets updated LED taillights and LED rear fog lamps.
It also gets a panoramic sunroof.
Along the flanks, it receives new dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels for a sleek profile.
Under the hood, the XV80 Camry in Singapore is powered by a fifth-generation (THS 5) Toyota hybrid (A25A-FXS) 2.5-litre powertrain four-cylinder engine makes a combined output of 231 PS with a claimed fuel efficiency of 5.1L/100 km. Power is sent to the front wheels via CVT-automatic transmission.
On the inside, the Singaporean-spec XV80 Camry features a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
The Singaporean XV80 Camry is closely aligned with the North American version compared to the Chinese version, with conventional button-style HVAC controls.
There is also a 12.3-inch multi-info display for relevant driving information.
Other key features include a fully-digital rearview mirror, a 9-speaker JBL sound system and a Qi wireless charger.
Further up, there is a twin panoramic glass roof.
The XV80 Camry in Singapore also gets 8-way powered and ventilated front driver and passenger seats; the interior is finished in leather.
The rear seats also have a powered recline function and roller sunshades on the rear doors help keep the sun out.
The Camry Hybrid models offer 500 litres of boot space, a bit more than the XV70 Camry’s 493 litres.
On the safety front, the Camry comes with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0, which includes:
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Road Sign Assist
- Automatic High Beams
- Proactive Driving Assist braking and steering assist
Back in Malaysia, the fully imported (CBU) from Thailand Toyota Camry (XV70) is only available with a single petrol-powered variant, the Camry 2.5V which starts from RM 219,800.
