A webinar by Joule Case examined how food trucks can transform their business by ditching generators and adopting battery systems.
There are many components to consider when building a food truck. You have to find the right vehicle, equipment, supplies and branding to make it stand out. Also, you need to have some way to power the vehicle. Traditionally, food truck operators have used gas powered generators, but these have several issues, ranging from pollutants to noise and expensive repairs. A webinar on Food Truck Operator sponsored by Joule Case covered how food truck operators can save time and money by adopting battery systems for their power needs.
Bradley Cooper, editor of Food Truck Operator, moderated the webinar, titled “Dump your generator: Why electric systems are better for your food business and your customers” with panelists Sid Gauby, product specialist at Joule Case, Hannah Russell, co-founder of Lightbox Ice Cream, Adam Sturgeon, owner of White Shepherd Coffee, Robert Waltz, business development manager at Aero Build and Kris Zankich, owner of Gold Rush Eatery.
During the webinar, the panelists discussed how electrical systems are more efficient than generators, with a particular focus on cost savings since batteries don’t require expensive repairs. In fact, Zankich said in the webinar that with all the money he spent on repairing his generators, he could have purchased a new food truck.
Other topics explored include:
- The initial investment cost for battery systems.
- What kind of support Joule Case offers customers.
- Battery warranties.
- Pros and cons of battery systems.
- Operational costs of battery systems vs. generators.
