The Monimoto 9 GPS motorcycle tracker detects unauthorized movement and tracks your motorcycle’s location in the event of theft. Having used earlier models of Monimoto GPS devices, I was excited to get my hands on the new Monimoto 9.
The Monimoto 9 tracker has some notable upgrades from its earlier models. Most noticeable is its reduced size, which measures 3.65 x 1.52 x 0.58 inches and weighs only 2 oz. The new size makes it easier to find a discrete location to secure the device on your motorcycle using the included zip ties.
The new rechargeable batteries can last up to 12 months on a single charge. The Monimoto 9 is also IP68 rated, so it can withstand being submerged in water and is completely dustproof.
Installation is a breeze. All you have to do is remove the white plastic contact tabs from the batteries, then download the Monimoto app. From there, you can follow the instructions to pair your phone with the tracking device. Then find a good spot to secure the device (the harder to see the better), attach the key fob to your keychain or put it in your pocket, and you are ready to go.

With the device set up, the tracker auto-arms, so you have nothing else to do. As soon as the key fob is separated from your motorcycle, the tracker will arm itself.
If movement is detected, the tracker enters Alarm Mode, the Monimoto app sends an alert notification about a possible theft in progress, and then it is followed by a phone call. Following the call, the tracker will consistently relay its GPS position to your app. If your motorcycle has indeed been stolen, you can share the tracking data with police.
While the Monimoto 9 GPS motorcycle tracker still uses LTE-M (a low-power wide-area network radio communication technology standard), it now works internationally. MSRP for the Monimoto 9 is $169. It comes with an embedded eSIM card and a free 2-month subscription; after that, the subscription is $49/year.
