Haoqi made a name for itself in the e-bike sector by providing an assortment of low-cost e-bikes with immense tires. I like the lighter e-bikes that I am used to. However, I was intrigued by the sight of this bicycle with fat tires and was eager to test ride it on unpaved mountain trails. In addition, I wanted to feel safe riding on difficult mountain trails where I couldn’t be sure my light e-bikes would bounce over boulders and stay vertical at higher speeds. The Haoqi review bike arrived with no issues in a fully intact box. It was quite heavy; the weight of the box was nearly 90 lb.
On the surface, the Haoqi appears similar to other fat tire value electric bikes out there. Although, with those extremely sturdy fat tires, I feel I will be quite road-ready. However, my idea is for the more rough, wonderful unpaved paths blooming with Appalachian trails, rabbits, baby bears, turkeys, creeks, rivers, and green, green foliage. I like the black fenders, the triangle frame, a front shock, and enjoyed my first time with 26″ x 4″ fat tires.
The other thing that differs between this e-bike and others I’ve reviewed is the range. The range almost matches my soon-to-be vintage BMW i3, the green car of the year in it’s day.
The company sent me a Haoqi Eagle model to experiment with and evaluate. I enjoyed the unique sensation of riding a hefty electric bicycle, which seemed completely different from my prior e-bikes. Perhaps it was because I was new to riding a heavy bicycle with a lot of substance, but the torque from the pedal assist alone struck me as more powerful than anything I had ever experienced. I felt propelled in ways I hadn’t before. So I took it slowly and cautiously, at first on paved paths. Then there were several nice, peaceful, but rugged mountain trails to try.
Even on paved roads, when I was traveling across town or a greater distance, range became a problem with other bikes. This bike wouldn’t pose a problem, as it can travel up to 80 miles, depending on the number of hills I climb. Considering the weight of this bike, I would require that assistance. I’m used to 20 to 30 miles, but on this one, I can go much further. Honestly, the quality of this e-bike is impressive given the power compared to other e-bikes. It is a fully powered, amazing source of transportation if handled carefully and responsibly. One has to take some time to become accustomed and natural with that. I viewed a couple videos to get some insight before going on any additional travels. I recommend watching both of these videos. The first one shows the rider pushing the bike’s speed on a paved road (which I do not advise anyone to attempt, unless they are very experienced riders). The e-bike has a top speed of 28 mph! It’ll be a long time, if ever, before I’m comfortable filming myself at that pace. The rider in the second video gave me a lot of encouragement because they were able to safely and steadily traverse bumps on difficult mountain roads while also showcasing the bike’s amazing handling skills. They tore through rocky mountain pathways.
A few years back, I tried to only use my e-bikes for transportation. I can’t do that in the mountains as easily, as we don’t have many good bicycle paths. Perhaps I will find more ways around that issue with this one. For now, I know of good mountain paths to use once I get the e-bike there.

Personally, I believe the specs show what a quality ebike this is — amazing quality for the price.
