The new XV80 generation 2025 Toyota Camry will be launching in Malaysia before the year ends.
As before, the D-segment sedan will be imported from Thailand, which explains the short time between its debut in Thailand last week and its upcoming launch in Malaysia. Unlike locally assembled cars, imported models don’t require lead team to retool the plant and source for parts from local vendors.
A Toyota dealer that Wapcar.my reached out to say they have sold out their inventory of the outgoing XV70 generation model, and customers looking for a Camry today are being advised to put their name down for the new model, which the dealer say will be launched by December. Sales advisors have also completed their product training just last week.
There are also rumours about a hybrid variant joining the local lineup. Currently, UMW Toyota Motor only sells two hybrid models, the locally assembled Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid and the Indonesia-made Innova Zenix.
The outgoing XV70 generation Camry was first launched in Malaysia in February 2019. The model received an update in February 2022, with a new 2.5-litre Dynamic Force (A25A-FKS) engine replacing the previous model’s 2AR-FE unit.
The new XV80 generation Camry is a major update from XV70 model. Changes are mostly aesthetics, albeit very significant ones.
The outgoing XV70 Camry was last sold at RM 219,800, for the sole 2.5V variant.
