Police respond to machete attack at downtown hotel


Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with a Court Order

On Friday afternoon, police responded to a downtown hotel for a male who had been attacked with a machete.  He sustained injuries to his hand a face and was transported by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threating injuries. The investigation discovered the victim had been assaulted at a different location and came to the hotel for help.  A 36 y/o male was located and arrested, he will be held for Court on Saturday.  It is believed that neither party involved knew each other.

Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon

Friday morning, police responded to a central Brandon residence for a disturbance.  Once at the residence, police discovered a 31y/o had sustained a stab wound to his hand.  A 26 y/o female was arrested and charged.  Both parties were known to each other.  The female was released with a Court date.
